Biography

Drew Story, at age 21, is currently studying for a bachelors degree in guitar performance at Berklee College of Music. He started his musical education in Houston, Texas at age 10. When high school arrived he became involved with high paying gigs at a few of the mega churches in the Houston area. These Mega Churches provided an extremely professional playing environment; playing in front of over 2,000 people every sunday, playing over 5 services a week, using top-of-the-line gear, and having the privilege of playing with musicians who have mastered their art. Some of these churches include: Second Baptist(all four campuses), Kingsland Baptist, and Bear Creek Baptist. Through these Church gigs he obtained an authentic knowledge of how guitar works dynamically in a band setting and how a careful gear set up(tone) is equal to technique and creativity. This eventually led to his acceptance into Berklee, which led his interest into the art of Gypsy Jazz and lessons from guitar faculty member, Kevin Barry. Drew keeps himself busy with playing at REUNION church in Boston, weddings, open mic nights, summer camps, and gigs affiliated with the Roots program at Berklee. His Fiance, Ellen Melissa Appleton, often accompanies him with violin.
